December 25, 2022 - Slightly past prime time, still very enjoyable, moving into the second phase of its life.
    Drink up… thru 2024/5

December 22, 2022 - Very enjoyable, but likely in its decline or close, so drink if you have any. Cellared since bottled, the wine is beautiful, but tannins completely resolved and wine is showing more secondary and tertiary flavors than primary - a little surprising for its age and cellaring.

Either way, still great. Palate I get graphite, stone, leather, cassis and little blueberry and red fruit. Nose is great - red and blue fruit, pencil lead, leather, cedar.

Enjoyed this as opposed to taking detailed notes - didn’t change much over an hour, but I think this is a drink over the next year if you have it.

March 30, 2020 - Listen, I could rank this higher than a 95, just from the surprise element. Last four evenings at dinner (during our extended stay at home) included a 2000 Pontet Canet, a 2013 Palmaz, 2000 Pavillon Rouge du Château Margaux, and a 2000 Château Monbousquet. This wine is STILL "a delicious hard to stop drinking and almost eating delight!" Plum pie has come to the forefront, while plopping a handful of blueberries in your mouth. Chewing and luxuriating with the results is the pièce de résistance, next to the plum pie. Seduction at a whole new level. Come on...... this second (or alternative Hourglass wine) is a a beauty, and it kills many Bordeaux, Burgundy, Rhone, Italian, and a lot of California wines. ONE word, PLEASURE, second word, surprise. Who'd a thunk this would be such a treat tonight after twelve years. Not me! I was drinking because Cellar Tacker said it needed to be drunk. I guess we both are correct!

Next on the to be drunk wines, the 1993 Château Mouton Rothschild. According to Parker, this Mouton should have been drunk in 2015. I just did not want to part with the label on the unopened bottle, an unprovocative portrait nude of a pre-teenager by Balthus. I have found it hard to part with my 18 consecutive vintages from 1993-2010. Telle est la vie du vin à boire. Bravo Winemaker Philippe Dhalluin for all you have accomplished since 2003! Posting that note on Sunday after our Saturday dinner extravaganza. Staying in ain't too bad!

June 23, 2019 - This vintage was made by Bob Foley and it’s delicious! Aromas of plum, cherry, sea salt, toasted caramel and cassis. Gorgeous ruby hue that seems to be holding strong at 11 years old. Flavors carry cherry, raspberry, tobacco, cedar, spice box, and a graphite/charcoal/mineral flavor after the very long finish. An outstanding wine that still has plenty of life ahead.
