April 17, 2023 - Was going to write up something but @Bam-man below hit the nail on the head. So, see below (even 10 years later, it’s a solid summary). Great wine to get lost in conversation over because it’s simplicity - yet delicious!

April 11, 2013 - Consistent with prior notes. Still drinking nicely. A plum and boysenberry fruit bomb with a mild acidity and an attractive, stony minerality on the finish. Not especially complex, but very enjoyable. It's like Italian Beaujolais.

September 24, 2012 - Excellent value. Muted fruit gives way to nice balance and finish. Drink now

August 31, 2012 - Consistent with my prior notes. A very nice, straightforward Barbera. Lots of tangy plum and vanilla character on the nose and palate. Nicely focused with a gentle acidity, there's also a touch of oak on the moderately long finish. Not a lot of complexity, but very enjoyable and easy to drink. Year after year this Chiarlo Barbera is an excellent value.
