  February 18, 2024 - Pear, spices, a little chili like aspect (but not hot or spicy!), rich, voluptuous, complex, some reduction. Turns out the 2009 showed richer than the others. Really nice and not over ripe at all, just a different character, great wine. 5th overall. I voted this my #2. Yarom DD blind tasting Crustacean.

  August 27, 2020 - Color looks like a very vibrant hue of lemon juice, or a crazy bright melon. This has been open for an hour and a half. The aromas are rich, and there's certainly a note of oak, but its all in balance. The nose is quite well rounded, with some mineral tones and dandelion. Nice volume. Very pretty palate as it coats the whole mouth. There's some weird shellac thing, but in a good way. It has this amazing counterpoint to its crazy viscosity with the acid intensity. The flavor profile is on the spectrum of a pureed red apple. The intensity and persistence on the palate is fantastic, exhibiting a display of confidence and elegance. The finish is very long and evolved, and comes in stages, taking place over at least 20-30 seconds. You start with the acidity, which is ripping and much more present than on the palate. You also have a rocky, cold stony tartness; perhaps a rocky creek in the forest. There's some oak inflection present on the finish, and you're still left with a lot of acidity to balance it well. I think we're at a great access point for this wine, and I'm glad I waited this long before diving into the first; it's showing some levels of maturity, but still has a long way to go. It's so good right now that I don't want to hesitate to dive into them, but I don't have many, so I am also really interested in letting this sit and see where it goes. I'll try and wait a few (~5?) years...

  February 3, 2020 - Dinner at Imperial Treasure Super Peking Duck. No detailed notes. Quite complex, rich ripe fruit, with nice buttery notes. Slight oxidative notes. Still quite fresh and shows no signs yet of decline.
