Wednesday, July 10, 2019 - Not an evening sipper, this one. It needs food! Fruitiness is mixed with scorched earth and ash when I open the bottle. The black fruit that I taste is partly greenish unripe and is certainly not overwhelming in depth. Bitterness is coming through towards the end leading to a cleansing and very dry finish, accompanied by spicy pepper. Definitely a good companion for salty, strong cheeses. Feta and soft, salty goats cheese were good partners to this uncomplicated, vibrant red southern Italian.
