Tuesday, December 29, 2020 - One hour decant; which it needed. Lots of sediment. The 2008 left banks are indeed approaching their drinkability window. Very classic, Pomerol style. Lots and lots of Ferrous/Iron terroir on this wine. Mild red cherish aromas too and touches of sandalwood. Medium bodied with adequate depth of Red Fruits on the palate. Tannins are very much in check. Earthy/Terroir finish. I’m pretty much in agreement with Jane Anson (Decanter) on this wine. Drink now; but won’t be going downhill either. Would rate a bit higher if a bit more concentrated and perhaps some more darker fruits were there too.
