Enjoyable enough over three nights. We will try to remember to put aside the remaining bottles for a couple years. PS: But see my comment of December 2021 — I’ve realized late that this was a wine made by cousin Pascal, not by cousin François!

12/15/2021 6:34:00 AM - Regarding “still learning”: well, I can relate. I recently realized that I misidentified this wine. The one I tasted is from Pascal, cousin of François. The wines have practically identical labels, are from the same vineyard(s), and from what I’ve recently learned, are basically made in the same style — picking rather late, emphasizing extraction, etc. That said, my review is miss-labeled, and so if and when I have time in the future, I may try to correct this and a couple related entries. Live and learn!

12/15/2021 9:52:00 AM - Jake, well regardless, your description is spot on for the F Cotat bottle. I have a couple cases of his rose and that alcohol on the nose and throat is heavily pronounced. My oldest bottle is the 18’ and it’s definitely out of balance and not ready. My guess is at about 5 years from vintage where I start to think about these as maybe being ready. They have a slight tobacco aroma to me, and I love the complexity of them, but I think they need a good slumber!
