Sunday, April 5, 2009 - Medium deep ruby. Nose is showing beautifully with an almost Beaune-like presence of plums, intense earth, flowers and spice. There is a hint of hight toned strawberry that gives this away as Gamay, but I had to go look for it. Medium bodied with deep red fruit and mineral flavors, crisp acids and what seems to be a touch of oaky roundness on the back end. This has resolved much of its tannin yet still tastes very young. Will try again in another year or two but this has really come in to its own and is now a pleasure to drink.
