Community Tasting Note

Friday, April 17, 2009 - Decanted for 1.5 hours. Nose: wet straw (or something organic, vegetal, and a little musky/musty), pencil shavings, minerals, and sweet beam of raspberry jam. Taste: gravel, mushrooms, bright red fruit.

The wine looks dark, but I don't get "dark" smells and tastes off it like some past tasters. I get bright tart ripe red fruit balanced by light earthy notes. Day 2 it evolved to more tarry smells.

It is pleasant and seems well made, but I'm not a Bordeaux drinker and I can think of many other bottles I'd much rather drop 40 bucks on. Maybe it looks good on you though?
