  Dark ruby with little color evolution. Soft tannins and medium-plus acidity. Balanced. Ripe black fruit, hints of barnyard and graphite. Leathery and earthy. Long finish.

  I feel this wine still has a couple years left to it. Very balanced wine through the night. Opened around 3pm and served with ribeye steak. Wine worked extremely well with the meal. Wine has a beautiful bouquet. Palate has flavors of red fruit, some tannins, feels one dimensional without the food but still quite enjoyable. Overall a highly recommended wine.

  The Las Cases from a weak year in general, performed very well, but its second wine hasn't seemed to fare so well. It is pleasant, but not one of the better years.

  Youthful appearance, nose is rather mute at this point, deep ruby red in colour, the palate is slightly harsh, a bit astringent and dry! Certainly not the best of Clos du Marquis I tasted!
