Saturday, February 4, 2023 - Nose: mung bean, green pepper, spices, rose petals, smoke, Blueberry
Notes: Very complex nose and clearly the green nose of the vintage is there. Impeccable nose and a soothing palate. The smokiness is quite distinct and I find this to be quite an interesting characteristic that might not be so present in too many other Romanee Saint Vivants. It is a pity that the rose petals are not as apparent as the 2007 which I tasted last year otherwise I think I would've liked it even better. Having said so, this is still quite an amazing wine and without a doubt I think this can be considered as one of the best expressions of the 2004 vintage.
