Decanted for 2 hours. Served double blind in a flight of 6 wines. Last place wine. Brown/red color. The nose is a mix of rotten vegetables and ash. Really funky. Ok palate, resolved fruit and subtle tannins, but nothing special.

Nose: mung bean, green pepper, spices, rose petals, smoke, Blueberry Notes: Very complex nose and clearly the green nose of the vintage is there. Impeccable nose and a soothing palate. The smokiness is quite distinct and I find this to be quite an interesting characteristic that might not be so present in too many other Romanee Saint Vivants. It is a pity that the rose petals are not as apparent as the 2007 which I tasted last year otherwise I think I would've liked it even better. Having said so, this is still quite an amazing wine and without a doubt I think this can be considered as one of the best expressions of the 2004 vintage. Drink: Now+ Rating: 93

Tainted - not corked. A real lack of precision and cloying, jammy finish. Very disappointing really considering its pedigree.

Clearly on the downward slope like most 04 red burg. Palate is grassy with some red fruit. Palate is syrupy. Off the peak.

Out of magnum. Lovely sweet, mid palette sappyness, sweet cherries, opulent
