Thursday, March 30, 2023 - First bottle of a half case stored since release. Low to mid-neck fill and moderate sediment when decanting the wine. Dark opaque purple. Initially, the nose and palate of the wine was muted, with prominent tannins on the finish. It was a bit concerning. But at three hours in the decanter, the wine opens gloriously--gorgeous perfumed dark fruit, cedar, mineral with distinct graphite notes, spice and floral nuances. This is great, profound wine. It is still young and will benefit from additional cellaring. It would be an unfortunate waste to drink this wine at this stage without a long decant. Next bottle in a few years if I can keep my hands off it.
