Thursday, January 26, 2023 - Tasted at the UGC at the Drake Hotel in Chicago. This was one of the three best wines out of the twenty or so I tasted and was right up there with the Pichon Lalande and Pichon Baron, which were the other stars of the night as far as I was concerned. With well concentrated red over and black fruits, a beautiful floral nose, dusty tannins, judicious oak, and all around impeccable balance, Brane-Cantenac’s star was burning very brightly tonight. Given the vast price differential between this and Pichon Lalande and Pichon Baron, there is no need to buy the Pauillacs if your intention is to obtain the highest quality wine for the least amount of money. I’ve bought a case. 13.5% ABV. Excellent; exceptional/*****
