2015 Ulysses Napa Valley

Community Tasting Note

Likes this wine:

94 Points

Thursday, April 11, 2024 - Open and consumed over 3 days. Still surprisingly youthful and unrelenting over the tastings. Nice tannins that are still firm. I would hold this for further development which might be very slow to develop.

93-94 hold.

4/13/2024 3:48:00 PM - Nice note, MJP......this has been my feeling as well. These are supposed to be made differently than their brother Dominus, yet it seems they will end up just as long lived?

Ulysses comes off of the old Swanson property which originally used to be part of MHopper, that Clarke sold to Christian Moueix in '08 who ripped out all the Merlot and replanted mostly Cab, along with some CFranc and PVerdot. Clarke was a patient of mine back in about 1984! I think the Bella Oaks people bought the very eclectic Swanson tasting room and turned it into their own.
