Thursday, April 21, 2011 - I've found brunellos from this producer to really do a number on me and this one was no exception. It is quite similar to it's bigger brother, the Tenuta Nuova of the same vintage. Licorice notes abound, with deep, penetrating flavors. It's surprisingly accessible now too. Just a little less refined and more easy going than the big brother, but frankly this is a more interesting, exciting and memorable wine than just about evey heavy hitter Brunello I've had from the '04 vintage, and I've had my fair share.
