89 Points

Saturday, December 9, 2006 - A beautiful pure nose of blackberry and cassis, smoke, crushed blackcurrant leaves, and orange zest. Super lift. In the mouth, medium to full bodied, substantial, and with unobtrusive tannins. Sweet vanilla, cedar - then a rush of red and black fruit. A neat dry finish. Really nice, if a touch lacking acidity. All in all very "claretty". It wouldn't be out of place on the Left Bank - maybe even in St Julien! Decanted for 3 to 4 hours but ready for business from the moment the bottle was opened.
