Tuesday, December 31, 2013 - New Years Eve Celebration Offline (Rocknroller's (Kevin & Vicki's Place)): Medium gold color. PNP, drank 1 glass over 30 minutes. The nose shows orange peel, orange, lots of honeysuckle. The palate is dense and full bodied, viscous, citrus, orange, vanilla, crème brule, honey, spice and has a long botrytis infused finish. Nice acid balancing the sweet fruit here too. Delightful!! Thanks Luis. 94+(+)pts.

I appreciate your well-defined description. However, I am unfamiliar with honeysuckle, only knowing it has nothing to do with honey. Can you direct me in furthering my knowledge/palate on the topic of honeysuckle?

1/5/2014 12:36:00 PM - Thanks for the question milesdavis. As a kid we used to play in the woods and on the hills behind our house. We would often find honeysuckle bushes. They are very fragrant with a sweet aroma, and they have a tasty sweet honey-like nectar in the bulbs of the flower. We would smell them and then bite off the bulbs and savor that sweet nectar. I often am reminded of this aroma and flavor in the best Sauternes.
