Tuesday, February 9, 2016 - Really ripe nose of black cherry and exotic dark spices. The texture of the wine is youthful even with a little spritz evident along with typical Vogue structure but then the powerful and ripe black cherry fruit kicks in which is forward and delicious. This is a big Bonnes Mares that is beautifully delineated and while it is years from proper maturity, it is simply delicious tonight with oven-roasted quail. The finish is loaded with fabulous spices and real mineral crunch. Is there anything better than game birds and Grand Cru red Burgundy? 94+
