Tuesday, May 10, 2016 - A expression of the St.Julien terroir - that is what the wine professes to be and it does succeed to a large measure. It has a sparkling garnet color which is very pleasing to the eye ! The nose while not very expressive is not muted either and comes through with pleasant aromas of red fruit and secondary aromas of earth , black fruit and some barnyard aromas - quite pleasant - it is the luscious and very mouth filling taste on the palate that makes this wine quite nice. The fruit is apparent and the tannins are present but well resolved. The finish is medium long and very juicy. I think the Les Cases team has done a wonderful job with this Marquis. I think this is drinking well already and will stay that way maybe another 5-7 years. Good value for money buy for a great wine.
