Wednesday, September 26, 2007 - Consumed at home with Bully burgers. Bright disc. Opaque purple robe with violet rim. Clean nose, showing moderately intense aromas of ripe blackberries, animal fur, vanilla and earth. Full-bodied on the palate, with low acidity, huge (and somewhat dry) tannins and ripe flavors which mirror the nose. There is clearly a substantial amount of residual sugar in this wine, which is accentuated by the dominant, hot alcohol (with the label undoubtedly under-reportiing at 15%). Long but hot finish. This is yet another over-the-top Linne Calodo wine. If experience with other bottles of similarly-structured Linne Calodo offerings is any indication, I would not cellar this for more than another 2-3 years.
