2009 Château Meyney

Sunday, September 3, 2017 - Sweet, confected red fruits at first. Soon dominated by cigar box with a hint of vanilla. A medium weight body with good energy. A slightly dry tobacco finish. A good balance of sweet and savory. 14.5% alcohol well hidden - not at all a hot finish. A wine entering its prime.

9/7/2017 5:34:00 PM - Thanks! I'd like to add that tannins are still lightly present towards the finish, but this is a very food friendly wine and any protein at all would make the tannins disappear quite nicely. As for the 2014 - I confess struggling to keep up with my cellar/purchases - and will only be opening the 2008 full bottles soon...
