Sunday, January 14, 2018 - In the 2000 bottling, Lichine captured the essence of Margaux that is often lost with many producers these days. This wine is powerful, yet very feminine and pretty. The finish is quite long and the wine has definitely improved from my last pull a couple of years ago. It throws lots of red fruit, tobacco and pretty flower shop scents in the middle and along the finish. Its like a multi layered wine right now with cedar and earth in the front, tobacco and red fruit, flowers, then earth, fruit and flowers again...Very nice. Drink or hold but this is at peak and 100% developed.
* Completely intact on day 2. The wine is in great shape for an aged Bdx.
