Wednesday, October 24, 2018 - Nose with cherries and cranberries, some candied berries, hints of tar, some flowery notes, mineral, and just hints of developed notes. Medium-bodied, palate with cranberries, some light-coloured cherries, fine acidity, fine minerality, noticeable tannins, and a somewhat firm aftertaste with berries and mineral. Perhaps a little on the light side for a Barolo from a very good vintage, and still (surprisingly) young, will develop with more time in the cellar. 90(+) p.
I was surprised that this was still so young in style. Borgogno Barolo Vigna Liste 2006 tasted earlier this year (three bottles from one batch) was considerably more developed.
