Friday, November 1, 2019 - In the glass, darker than expected given sangiovese but clear rim shows some age. Nose of stewed red cherries, dust and leather, you can tell its a heavier style of Chianti before even tasting. Palate shows good structure and nice acidity, quite full bodied but not over the top. Mid palate was a little hidden. Hint of sweetness. Quite well integrated, oak was more prominent at first but over a couple of hours it calmed down. 15% heat wasn't obvious. Could have done with a decant, but pretty good.
