Thursday, December 12, 2019 - I've not seen a rosé version of this cuvée before. Palest pink, like a glass of water mixed with a teaspoon of strawberry juice. A mild, unexciting nose with initially an unpleasant whiff that blows off and reveals a bit of red fruit. The taste outperforms this, thankfully - there's a good richness, with a meaty red fruit intensity that I associate with pinot noir-dominated cuvées (but the label carries no info on varieties). Good acidity, and what I assume is moderately high dosage that works well. Broadens out with air, nice apple and pear notes. Well priced. [Composite cork + cage; 12% abv; Aldi, £14.99].
