95 Points

Thursday, June 17, 2021 - This Oakville Ranch Cab has turned the corner and is drinking well. It’s still early for my palate but the stuffing of a great wine is in the bottle. This will be a fun one to follow over the next decade. 95+

5/18/2024 2:14:00 PM - Hi mjp, hope all’s well with you. I just got a half case of this at auction (a bit under $100/btl w/tax and auction premium). I don’t have a fully formed opinion of the vintage, but having had a wonderful Bella Oaks ‘17 this, coupled with fondness of Helen’s cabs, made this seem like something I’ll find to be a good deal, even though I haven’t had any of hers from ‘17. Am wondering if you think it worth to open a bottle at this point, or is it better waiting a few years? Fwiw, this wouldn’t even be a question for me if I had just one or 2 bottles, but isn’t the fun of buying 6 that you can sometimes let your curiousity get the better of you? Thanks!
