Saturday, December 31, 2011 - This wine is Wonderful. Stylistically the 09 Vosne is very similar to the 09 Bourgogne I had several days ago but bigger with more structure. This Mugneret-Gibourg Vosne-Romanee has great elegance and an acid backbone that balances the lush fruit present in this vintage. This is clearly superior to the 2006 version I just had recently and is the best young VR I have tasted period. Makes you ask the question why other producers with similar plot of vines do not have this quality or purity of fruit. If you drink this young decant it for at least two hours and save half of the bottle for the next day. This wine tasted better on day 2 but clearly needs 5-8 years of bottle age and will last beyond a decade. I bought a case and am now thinking about buying six more bottles. Highly recommended+++.
