  • 2015 Domaine Louis Boillot et Fils Chambolle-Musigny

I just tried this wine over a two-day period and loved it. Decant for at least one hour prior to drinking.

This Chambolle has a beautiful balance with a medium structure. Acidity was better on day one but the wine had calmed down and had less tannin on day two. Starting to drink well now but will hold for another 5+ years in my opinion.

This is a under the radar producer that I have been buying for over 10 years. The 2015 Louis Boillot Gevery Chambertin has a bit more structure and can use some more time. Will hold off on any of my 1er until at least 2026.

Just found some more of this wine for $65 a bottle and bought all I could. Just got lucky I guess. At this price point, this is superb value for the high quality of this juice. Something that is hard to get now in Burgundy in Chambolle.

    Score 90-91

  • 2015 Gilbert et Christine Felettig Vosne-Romanée

I finally opened a bottle of this Vosne Romane from my cellar today.

I was surprised by how tasty it was. Bright lively acidity with red fruit and very well balanced. It's a nice village burgundy that is drinking well now with no major flaws. Enjoy and steal at $59 a bottle.

    Score: 90-91

  • 2010 Domaine Louis Boillot et Fils Gevrey-Chambertin Les Evocelles

Decanted for two hours before drinking

Color: Med-Dark cherry but bright, not cloudy.

Nose: Very Nice. Floral berries with earth and other nuances that are hard to describe. Pleasurable indeed.

Taste: Good acidity. Medium body. Not a big burly wine. More of a bright red fruit profile with minerals and some acidity on the follow-through. I can also taste the earth on the long and lingering finish. This wine has more complexity than I expected from a Gevrey Village red burgundy. Good acid-fruit balance with this Evocelles that is drinking well, at least in this bottle. I love burgundy like this and it's a delight to savor. Recomended Indeed. Score 91.
