94 Points

Tuesday, October 30, 2012 - UCGB tasting Bordeaux 2010 (Brussels): Beautifully ripe dark forest fruits, toasted oak, cedar, cigar box etc. in the bouquet. On the palate a pleasant somewhat sweet start, beautiful dark fruits, exclusive oak which the fruits can handle and a beautiful balance between sweetness and acidity. Mild, but powerful tannin and a good concentration. In this stage definitely one of the better Margaux wines I tasted. At this moment the wine gives the impression it will be easy to drink starting from now and it will not close down, although there is plenty potential. In general 2000 wines gave the same impression in their youth, but many did shut down, so for this Lascombes I don't know. It won't hurt to wait until 2020 or 2022 to try how in shows then. For now 93 - 94.
