Sunday, April 18, 2021 - Subsequent notes on this wine from several years ago. Dark ruby red in color with no obvious signs of aging. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, strawberries & blueberries with overtones of spice notes of cardamom, nutmeg & cloves & floral notes of violets, earthy/dusty notes, minerals, cherry-cola & a slight hint of vanilla. Medium bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, blueberries & plums with spices, herbs, earthy, some cherry-cola notes, minerals & a hint of vanilla. Lingering smooth finish. Drinks quite well at present & at 12 years of age may be at its peak of development but should hold for a few more years if stored properly. Cork was clean & intact; fill was up in the neck.
