Friday, April 11, 2014 - The '01 is drinking beautifully right now showing the classic "buns of steel" structure with perfect crisp acidity and fairly evolved flavors of lime, menthol, grass and charcoal. Medium-bodied and beautifully balanced with a wonderful salinity, great extract and that classic texture of "water over rocks" that makes this wine so unique. The finish is intense and fabulously complex and grippy with great mineral content. I caught this bottle at the right moment...
