I picked this bottle up through Brentwood Auctions for a pretty penny. Justifying the spend due to the acclaim. I figured the annual family trip to Sedona was a suitable setting to pull.

Upon opening, this wine is full throttle JLC Hermitage. On the nose and palate, it’s unmistakable. This vintage is in the early window of visitation. Even then, I would consider holding this wine for at least another 5-10. Personally, work through some of the lesser greats and stash 2010 for its 20th birthday.

98+ today. Triple digits in the near future

3/23/2024 12:10:00 PM - Super helpful. My wife got me one for our 10th anniversary in 2020 and we plan to drink it for our 20th. Super hard for me not to open it though never having had a Chave Hermitage.

We're coming up on our 20th this year. 2005 vintage provides some great options!
