Monday, November 14, 2022 - This Fourrier was lights out. 2010 is a vintage for me. This was focused and pure with sappy red fruit and a long spicy finish. There was a real feral component to this wine that I was obsessed with. The tannin was mostly resolved and balanced with perfect acidity. I managed to catch this wine in its moment. A real wow wine. It continues to surprise me how well these village level wines show / age. Aged Burgundy is truly special…

For those who aren’t familiar with this vineyard it is at the southern end of Gevrey and it directly boarders the Grand Cru Mazoyere / Charms-Chambertin. A lot of value here, and a very underrated wine in Fourrier’s portfolio IMO.
