94 Points

Tuesday, January 24, 2017 - This has really soared since 2015. Nose is bigger than ever, with tar and smoke and dark cherries. And I have to quote from earlier: "Palate is bright with nebbiolo fruit, yet there is a darkness and earthiness which gives it depth. The acidity is part of that brightness along with a bit of spice."
Eventually tannins kick in and this wine just kicks ass, all along the flavor profile. I'm pushing the ideal drink by date back to 2018 because it is NOT over any peak at this point. Just keeps on giving.
