Friday, March 31, 2023 - An evening winning the wine 🍷 lottery: finding a mature Armand Rousseau Clos de la Roche at a restaurant & wine bar - at yesteryears price 😁
Enjoyed it in front of the fireplace at the bar. No decanting to enable following it. Deep red with beginning mature yellow brown coloration.
On the nose cherries, sandalwood, earthy notes and just heavenly perfume. On the palate it took 15-20 minutes in the glass to open, and then it developed over the following hours. Earthly notes, leather - super balance and velvety. Taking a sip with air makes it broaden its tannin and it expands like stepping on the pedal in the car. Outstanding experience.
