Blind. Morey characrter without much of the Rousseau blue fruit, decent alcohol level, somewhat cooler vintage, showing jammy red fruit and gamey earthiness with air. Could not bring myself to guess Rousseau, then again this is the least Rousseau vintage. Ponsot CDLR 2011? Almost there! 93

Bottle breathe for 1 hour, and double decant before serving. Similar note. The nose and palate kept changing, and the full "cherry blossom" around 1.5 hour after serving. The scene of Blowing scent of narcissus were exploding, and the palate is full body with candy, red fruit, wood and leather. Finishing with spice and long. Peak in 2-2.5 hours. Very nice to drink now

Slow oxed for an hour, pretty color - light red/pink, elegant & sophisticated perfumed nose of red cherries, sandalwood, 5-spice powder, silky finesse palate, not a powerhouse, still young, an evening of stellar wines including 08 Ch Rayas, 96 Ch Margaux & 01 Comte Vogue Musigny 94+

An evening winning the wine 🍷 lottery: finding a mature Armand Rousseau Clos de la Roche at a restaurant & wine bar - at yesteryears price 😁 Enjoyed it in front of the fireplace at the bar. No decanting to enable following it. Deep red with beginning mature yellow brown coloration. On the nose cherries, sandalwood, earthy notes and just heavenly perfume. On the palate it took 15-20 minutes in the glass to open, and then it developed over the following hours. Earthly notes, leather - super balance and velvety. Taking a sip with air makes it broaden its tannin and it expands like stepping on the pedal in the car. Outstanding experience.

Slow ox one hour. Lovely floral nose. Medium bodied. Wide open for business. No green notes at all. Lush black and red cherry herbs and tea on the palate with a round finish. Lacks a little poise and focus but excellent for the vintage.

Bottle breathe for 1 hour, and double decant before serving. Blowing scent of flower, and palate with spice, fruit, smoke yet very smooth. It’s in service after 20 min in the glass. It evolves quite nicely, with scent / nose of almond at one point (perhaps 1 hour). It becomes more full body after 1.5 hours with violet, cherry and medium finishing. Peaked about the same time. Really enjoyable and right on spot now. I will try “slow ox” next time with bottle breathe for 2 hour, and let the bottle open slowly.

Not the best vintage but Rousseau delivers with elegance. Not as powerful as 09 or 10 but well balanced. I got a hint of effervescence in this bottle. Cherries, some spice, and overall a pleasant experience. Drinking just fine now but needs air. Perhaps I drank too quickly before proper decant.

Slow oxed for two hours. Lovely nose of red cherries, roses and spice. The wine is in a good drinking zone showing flavors of ripe cherries, a little earth and spice. The wine is very full in the mouth and delicious with modest residual tannin and structure. This is an early drink CdR that should be good over the next 5-10 years. I continue to find 2011 to be a surprisingly delicious early drinking vintage and have seen none of the green character people had worried about early on.

Rousseau Dinner (WS New York): A solid wine. I am a fan of CDLR and I appreciate Rousseau's expression. As Cyrielle said, CDLR is more muscular. You can feel the weight and the point of view from the nose to the palette. It was a bit brash in this company but overall enjoyable. I think the vintage didn't do it any favors - in a warmer year with some time I think this would have been quite good.

SLDS July 2017 (Cirrus): Herbal nose and not much else happening. Palate is short and astringent. Is it low level stripped/corked? Certainly too different from other bottles I've had to be representative.

Nice color. The nose shows lightweight aromas of red berries, minerals, flowers, spices and a hint of earth. This is medium bodied on the palate with decent concentration and substantial class. The medium plus length finish features fairly refined tannins. A bit feeble for a Grand Cru...

Well, this won't be the best review. My beautiful bride and I went to the Marina in Cascais to have dinner under the Full moon on the night it was closest in proximity to the earth. One of our favorite's Hemmingway which is a must go to if you are ever in Cascais Portugal.
Now to the wine. Decanted 2-3 hours and both the Owner/Sommelier of the restaurant agree...needs five+ more years, all the components are there in terms of fruit, balance, acidity. tannins but extremely youthful yet if you must commit fanticide this is one to do so. I'm conservative with the 92 possibly but based upon our 'first impressions' a fantastic wine now and into the future...remember, I'm a hopeless romantic and having it with a special dinner with my lovely bride...well probably influenced but...isn't that what it is all about.

So, it is true that one man's garbage is another man's treasure. Well maybe not such a distinction is required but you get my point. This wine has not been exhaulted as many others in the category but I can tell you this was incredible and wonderful. I can't tell you specifics because I needed an excuse to open one to evaluate and friends came to Cascais from Brazil to visit and I wanted to share since he loves Burgundy. Everyone raved about the wine and it truly was fantastic. Did decant and drank over 3 hours. Sorry nothing more.

I found this to be the most fruit driven of the Rousseau lot. A rich and densely packed wine, I found lots of blueberry, blackberry, silky palate and youthful (duh!) tannins. A very caressing wine, it doesn't have the complexity of the Chambertin but is wonderful nonetheless.

Wildman New Release Burgundy Tasting (Trump International Hotel - Chicago IL): Tasting. Red and black cherry aromas with some licorice and rosemary. Slightly more black fruit on palate with a woodsy, powerful character particularly from middle to end with noteworthy minerality and acidity. Cyrielle Rousseau described her family's CdlR as a handsome gentleman, which certainly came through tonight in the 2011.
