Sunday, October 22, 2023 - Decanted an hour before tasting, this was clearly big and ripe but also firmly structured. I decided to go in a different red Burgundy direction for the evening, took the bottle home, and re-visited several times over the next few days. The structure slowly softened along but commensurate with the fruit, so this never really reached the great balance of the best bottles. This has often been a confounding wine, but most previous bottles provided much more enjoyment.
