90 Points

Monday, March 18, 2019 - Dinner at Pizzeria Bebu (Chicago, IL): Fairly muted nose. The palate is definitely more interesting here, with lots of weight and a little bit of waxiness. Seems a bit heady, but as far as viognier goes, there's quite a lot of acidity to keep it in check. With air, the fruit got fatter and sweeter, while the waxiness and acidity didn't seem to change relative to each other. But at the end of the day, this is a good wine but it's certainly not worth the (now) very high tariff, at least to me. Perhaps it is still more a piece of vinous trivia...
