90 Points

Wednesday, December 25, 2013 - The 2010 Hubert Lignier Chambolle-Musigny Vieilles Vignes is bright medium (-) ruby in colour with a nose of fresh juicy red berries and a slight overlay of rustic earthy notes (one that may not be too typical of the 'seductive chambolle-musigny' stereotype).

On the palate, a soft entry of juicy red currants but more so, a burst of thin-skinned red cherries and berries. Very fresh and bright on the palate nonetheless. Soft throughout with a pleasant finish. With 13% alcohol stated on the label, the wine definitely hides its 'spike' pretty well. Good acidity that is rather mouthwatering, possibly contributing to the freshness of the wine. Drinking well now, but definitely has years ahead with such a well-made structure. This is one villages-level wine of a higher quality surely. (89-92)
