Saturday, October 12, 2013 - 1999 Petrus Tasting (Metropolitan wine cellar, HK): Saw some TN from others and it seems this wine could be quite inconsistent, so I guess I'm lucky that the bottle just tried came up rather nicely. Fascinating nose, with layers of floral, minerals, blue fruits, violet, damp earth, mushroom and some herbal scent. It gives a warm, comforting feeling to the taster. Rich, balanced on the palate, blue and red fruits, earth, plum notes, silky and lush mouth feel. Very fine tannins, softened already but it has a touch of grippy feel to it which is nice. Long finish, plum meat, cigar smoke and floral notes. A satisfying tasting indeed.
