Wednesday, August 16, 2017 - Popped one hour before first pour, consumed over 3 hours. Nose: Expressive scents of bright spicy red fruit - cherry and strawberry, with dark fruit undertones - blueberry and black berry, with black dirt and gamey notes, really interesting and quite complex. Palate: Medium bodied, attack is dominated by bright red fruit and spice, plenty of acidic backbone to balance it out through the mid-palate, spice continues through the back-end where gamey - venison - and sweet tobacco notes join in. Finish: Lengthy 30-45 seconds dominated by spice, game, red fruit, and sweet tobacco.
