Tuesday, September 21, 2021 - Pop and pour, consumed over 2 hours. Appearance: Clear, dark garnet - showing signs of edge bricking. Nose: Clean, medium+ intensity, developed aromas of dried cherries, blackberry, black pepper, spice, licorice, and dark earth. Palate: Clean, medium acid, medium+ tannin, medium+ intensity, medium+ body, high alcohol (15.2% abv), developed flavors of dried cherries, licorice, spice, and earthiness with long finish. Overall a very good wine showing exceptional intensity and length with very good complexity but slightly out of balance due to the high alcohol - there just isn't quite enough depth here to support 15.2% abv. All in all this is still a very enjoyable wine and those who like big bold wines will very much like this. Drink now or over the next 2 years.
