Saturday, September 3, 2022 - No notes taken. Like many 1985s, this is drinking at its peak. Wonderful, telltale Mature Pessac aromas of tobacco, with some leather and truffles notes as well as a dark fruit and minerality core underneath. Fine, mature, light frame and feel. Good tension upon opening, this faded a bit away, lost aromatic intensity and structural integrity with more time in the glass. The first 20 minutes, this was a 95+ pts experience with missing additional complexity for a higher rating. Afterwards it declined quickly into anonymity.
Decanting: No decant needed.
