Friday, September 20, 2013 - This was my first from a case of the '99 Musar and it trumped the '01 which I'm also a big fan of. Cherries on the nose. Simply delicious and I suspect it will age well. Outstanding price to quality ratio

9/20/2013 2:27:00 PM - Jamie, don't go through the case too fast........I've been drinking Musar for over 20 years and I think this particular vintage has a 20+-year life of improvement ahead of it. Something that the winemaker, Serge Hochar, agrees with. Cheers, Mike

We only have 4 btls, but will enjoy them spread out over many years.

9/21/2013 11:24:00 AM - Hi Jamie, thanks for the kind words. Other vintages of older Musar? Definitely 1991 or 1994 if you can find either of them. I buy every case or bottle of 1991 that I can find because it is a masterpiece. Going older than that takes you into a big step up in price......1981 is superb, 1977-79 are all gorgeous still (check out my TNs). Younger than 1999?.......I would buy more 1999 instead of any of them! BTW, I just happen to be in the West End tomorrow lunchtime if you happen to work around there and are free for a quick lunch (my SF-HK transit has stretched because of the big typhoon in HK, my home).
