2015 Château Cantemerle

Community Tasting Note

Tuesday, March 29, 2022 - This is the third bottle I have opened since release all stored at 55 degrees and not moved from my cellar. This is completely closed at the moment and I don't feel like any amount of coercion will open this up. This was more "open" even just a few months ago. I would not revisit this until another few years minimum. I agree with MOTZ comment from a while back - I would not touch these until the 15-20 year age window.

3/29/2022 11:39:00 AM - Completely agree! Like I said in my note, I wouldn't touch these again until the 15-20 year mark implies not before 2030. I had 15 of these so I decided to taste them along the way...

3/29/2022 11:46:00 AM - @enfantterrible - I've done the same with the exception of bottles that I own more than 12 of - I do like to see the evolution of some wines starting early on in their development.

3/30/2022 4:57:00 AM - I had poor experience with the 2010 Cantermerle (light and boring) in 2018, while my second bottle recently showed much much better. Highlights the need to age these until age 12 at least.

4/1/2022 6:07:00 PM - That's a bummer these are closed now. I have a few reasonable 2015's like the Cantemerle, Gisours, etc, but it seems like it's better to use storage space for higher priced bottles that need the same time. Thanks for your note.
