Wednesday, January 27, 2010 - Color is lighter red with very little browning. Gorgeous nose of sweet clay/earth with notes of char, tobacco and ancient forest. The tannins are fully resolved and the wine is perfectly ready now. It is light to medium-bodied and lacks real power but it is a lovely, silky, mature Pomerol with complex flavors that echo the nose. A wonderful companion for food (in this case the blue chicken at 11 Madison, NYC) as it is so seductive as it glides over the tongue. A deeply satisfying wine and I don't get the feeling it will make old bones so I'd drink up.
