Friday, January 13, 2023 - My second and last bottle. A year ago, it started out primary and disjointed, taking over an hour to open up and become more integrated. This bottle, however, was just fine right out of the gate. Red and blue fruits, with plenty of bramble. Fairly big and rich, without being overbearing. Well balanced and no raisins, excess sweetness, or other port-like characteristics. Although I drink a lot of high octane zins, the heat on this one was quite noticeable, bordering on obtrusive. Probably approaching its peak, but it should continue to evolve and improve over the next year or so. I must be a slow learner, because it's taken me until quite recently to realize that Bedrock zins (and Heritage wines) need a lot more time in the bottle to shine compared to zins from Carlisle, Once & Future, Seghesio and others.
