Friday, June 4, 2021 - It's been almost 4 years since I last tried this at the winery, tonight after 2h of decanting. Fragrant nose of strawberry compote and baking spices. On the palate, this has a great deal of red fruit and berries up against a wall of mineral, tar, white pepper, balanced acidity, and chewy tannins. Great masculinity and spirit of La Morra. Terrific contrast tonight tasted head to head with '13 Rocche dei Manzoni Santo Stephano, which is a lighter and more intellectual. Delicious now, should benefit from further aging. I will try to wait for another 4-5 years before my next bottle.
