Double decanted, had a glass immediately, very intense oak as to be expected. Second glass half an hour later was much more open. Cherries and leather, very nice. After 3 hours back in the open bottle with beef ragù and tagliatelle it was absolutely delicious. At £30 this is great QPR.
It's been almost 4 years since I last tried this at the winery, tonight after 2h of decanting. Fragrant nose of strawberry compote and baking spices. On the palate, this has a great deal of red fruit and berries up against a wall of mineral, tar, white pepper, balanced acidity, and chewy tannins. Great masculinity and spirit of La Morra. Terrific contrast tonight tasted head to head with '13 Rocche dei Manzoni Santo Stephano, which is a lighter and more intellectual. Delicious now, should benefit from further aging. I will try to wait for another 4-5 years before my next bottle.

My first bottle of wine from La Morra and a positive start. Aromatic in the glass after a 3 hour decant, a few swishes and off it went. Elegant, driven though. Cherry and musk. A lighter colour of red, more like PN than anything I've encountered - see through, an opaque cherry red. Lifted the italian sausage pasta to new heights, deeply delicious wine with food. A bit chewy, sinewy, but the overwhelming feeling was of smooth balance. Great stuff.

Light in color, but big in flavor and aromatics. Tart cherry and leather, complimented by the floral aromatics. Velvety texture backed by grippy tannins. Primary, but very delicious at this stage.

Rob’s tasting note: Amazing nose. Sour cherries and violets. And tar - very noticeable. Leathery tar. Depth of flavour incredible for the lightness of how the wine looks. On palate, light in weight with beautiful flavour. Fresh fruit in the mid section. Satisfying chewy tannin, then long creamy finish with a touch of vanilla. Great with steak, but tannins soft enough that I could happily drink this on its own My note: v good example of la Morra and excellent QPR. Will look forward to the next bottle perhaps in a few years, but can be happily drunk now.
