Tuesday, March 29, 2005 - This Kim Crawford is a fruit explosion showing peach, pear, and lemon--and perhaps some melon as well--both on the nose and the palate. This must be what fruit-cocktail-on-steroids tastes like. The acidity is ample enough for my tastes--there's a nice bite, even absent my favorite Sauvignon Blanc elements (viz., herbs and chives)--and the balance is admirable, as is a relatively lengthy finish (at least for a wine so affordable). I much prefer an edgier, greener style of SB, but I'll happily acknowledge the merits of this fruit-bomb from Down Under.
